This is a family owned Italian BYOB that is located in a charming Victorian house on Main Street in Yardley owned and managed by a young married couple (from my perspective, everyone is young, including myself!). It was recommended to me several years ago by friends who thought I would like it, and they were correct! Jon and I have been going there regularly, but, only recently, thanks to Facebook, I found out that I know some of the family members. So, when I went there recently, I made this known to the owner/manager/wife Rosa herself!
The restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are two dining areas and sometimes the customers overflow onto outside the wrap around porch. The chef/husband is also an owner, and he is quite innovative with his cucina. It is quite obvious that he loves to cook, and he does a fine job! Everything is prepared in-house, including the desserts! Rosa manages the flow of customers and service, and this works out perfectly. There are even some family members among the staff, and the service is always excellent.
One time there, I had the best salmon dish I had ever tasted. Recently, my appetizer was three of the most delicious meatballs, the Polpette (nonna’s recipe, pork & veal meatballs, Pomodoro sauce, pecorino). Jon had the Polpo (grilled octopus, crispy potatoes, ceci, baby arugula), which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. I had the house salad and Jon had the Cesare, and we both loved their crispness an freshness topped with an superb dressing. I enjoyed the Salmone alla livornese (mashed cannellini beans, tomatoes, olives, capers) and Jon dined on the Bistecca (roasted petit beef tender, crispy potatoes, sweet corn & arugula salad, basil aioli). All of the vegetables were superb! I finished with a lemon tarte that was very delicious, which I took home so I could experience it for breakfast!
You will thoroughly appreciate this dining experience. Do not be reluctant to try anything on the menu, as you will likely be in for a culinary treat!
